Liu Fanguo was born in Laoxiangxiang County，Hunan Province in 1931.In 1947，he was permitted to the Secondary and Junior Art Training Schools and became a teach of Shuangfeng County First Middle School after graduation。10 years later，he entered the Oil Painting Major of the Fine Arts Department of Hunan Normal University and created his graduation painting Don’t Forget the Past in 1964 which was selected for the 4th National Fine Arts Exhibition。He accepted the offer and become a professional painter of Hunan Artists.
